- A Oil on Canvas painting after the iconic 1618 painting "The Rape of the Daughters of Leucippus" by Peter Paul Rubens and Jan Wildens. Handpainted Reproduction by a Portuguese artist signed to lower left and with name plaque to the front.
The painting depicts the mortal Castor and the immortal Pollux abducting Phoebe and Hilaeira, daughters of Leucippus of Messenia.
Artist: Almeida Pinto - After Jan Wildens and Peter Paul Rubens.
Circa 20th century.
Mounted in a large gilt frame with a mounted overhead light.
Condition: Very good. Lights not tested.
