Y. Ardissone Painting
- An original painting by the renown French artist Yolande Ardissone (b. 1927), oil on canvas mounted in an ornate gilt frame. Depicting an impressionistic view of the Marina in Pornic, with vibrant flowers to the foreground in heavy impasto paint, and bright colouring to the lake and boats, Pornic depicted to the background.
Signed lower right "Ardissone" and titled to verso "Le Port de Pornic".
Yolande Ardissone left home at age seventeen to study in Paris at the Ecole des Art Appliques and also at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. Two years later she studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and worked in the Atelier of Unterstellar.
Her vivid, impressionistic style was strongly influenced by Gauguin, Renoir, and Van Gogh, she loves to paint Provence, Paris and the French countryside - but her favorite topic is the region of Brittany in western France,.
Her works are owned by several museums and private collections including the Ville de Paris, the Musee de l’Ile de France, the Musee de la Marine, l’Etat, etc. The Ville de Paris awarded her the Medaille d’Argent for her achievements.
Condition: overall very good.
