Tureen with its bowl
A tureen and matching bowl in stamped earthenware signed 'WARWICK J Ridgway'. The work dates from around 1830-1855 by John Ridgway (1785-1860), a prominent potter with links to Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire (UK). Both pieces belong to the series of views of Warwick Castle by the River Avon. Both the tureen and its bowl have corresponding marks on their respective bases. The rim of the mouth of the tureen has a small lack of paint, not earthenware (see fifth image). Measurement of the tureen 31 (height) x 33 x 27.5 cm. Size of the bowl 41.3 x 49 x 7 cm.
