Bronze bull. Following models by Mariano Benlliure Gil (Valencia 1862 - Madrid, 1947).
Mariano Benlliure was a Spanish sculptor, an outstanding precocious creator in both the pictorial and sculptural fields. He trained in Valencia, Madrid, Paris and Rome and became famous after settling in Madrid in 1887, when he won a First Medal at the National Exhibition of that year. His healthy economic situation allowed him to develop an active social life, meeting outstanding personalities of his time. He produced numerous religious, civil and funerary works whose work is kept in important private collections and institutions all over the world.
