16th century stone chapitel
Capital. Carved granite. Spain, 16th century.
Column element made of carved granite with volutes inspired by classical Corinthian capitals (three in total) accompanied by mouldings. This is a common typology in Spanish Renaissance architecture, as can be compared with those in the courtyard of the San Isidro Museum or the Museo de los Orinoco.
