Advertising Poster GPO Early Use Of the Magnet Eric Fraser. Original vintage advertising poster for the General Post Office (GPO) - Early Use of the Magnet - featuring a great illustration by Eric Fraser (1902-1983) depicting an Asian sailor on a ship pointing ahead, another sailship in the background and a bright star in the sky in the background, the GPO logo and stylised title text below. One of a series of posters published by the GPO to showcase the new telephone and telegraphy technologies. The General Post Office GPO was founded in 1660; Royal Mail was founded in 1516. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing, tears, staining, foxing, browning. Country of issue: UK, designer: Eric Fraser, size (cm): 51x63.5, year of printing: 1940s.
