Original vintage Art deco advertising poster for a French language daily newspaper Le Peuple published in Brussels Belgium. The poster features an stylised illustration of a giant man dressed in red above orange city buildings with windows, rooftops and chimneys He is holding up a paper with stylised text reading Lisez Le Peuple - Read The People - all against blue background. Le Peuple was founded in 1885 and served as the central organ of the Belgian Labour Party, with Socialist political alignment that switched to Right-wing in 2010. In 2013 the newspaper launched an online version. Horizontal. Good condition, restored creasing, restored tear, backed on old linen, poster separating from linen in several places, ink stamps on image, ink stamp on reverse.
