Propaganda Poster British Jet Planes WWII Gloster Meteor
Original vintage poster British Jet Planes 2, featuring an image of planes flying across the blue sky, the caption reads - The first jet plane to go into full-scale military service was Britain's Gloster "Meteor", built by the Gloster Aircraft Co. Ltd., and powered by two Rolls-Royce "Derwent" jet engines. These fighters overtook and shot down the German VI flying-bombs, and after the war captured the first two world's airspeed records at over 600 m.p.h. The Royal Air Force has several squadrons of "Meteors", one of which is seen above flying in formation. Prepared by the Central Office of Information and printed by Fosh and Cross LTD. Horizontal.
