Midcentury Modern Poster Amsterdam Theaterstad
Original vintage advertising poster for Amsterdam Theaterstad / Theatreland at the Theatre Museum Fodor from 18 June to 30 September featuring a great design by the Dutch painter Mans Meijer (1916-1970) depicting an actress lying on a stage with blood on her chest and a shadow of a man holding a gun above her, the spectators visible in the background with the stylised diagonal lettering on the black curtain on the side. Opened in 1863 the Toneelmuseum at Keizersgracht 609 housed the art collection of Carel Joseph Fodor (1801-1860) until it closed in 1993; the collection is managed by the Amsterdams Historisch Museum. Excellent condition. Country of issue: Netherlands, designer: Mans Meijer, size (cm): 100x70, year of printing: 1957.
