Original vintage movie poster for a Polish release of a French film La veuve Couderc under a title Wdowa Couderc. Image of a man with an oil lamp for a head. The Widow Couderc (French: La veuve Couderc) is a 1971 French drama film based on the novel of the same name by Georges Simenon. Director: Pierre Granier-Deferre. Writers: Georges Simenon (based on the novel by), Pierre Granier-Deferre (adaptation), Stars: Alain Delon, Simone Signoret, Ottavia Piccolo. The film is set in 1934: a stranger meets a country woman on the road and helps her to carry her parcel. Jean, is an escaped convict and jobless. He accepts to stay with the widow and in spite of their age difference they become lovers. Betrayed and tracked down by the police, the widow chooses to die with him at her farm. Based on Simenon's novel. Excellent condition. Country of issue: Poland, designer: Jacek Neugebauer, size (cm): 80.5x56.5, year of printing: 1974.
