ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF SAINT PARASKEVA
An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Saint Paraskeva. Mixed media technique: egg tempera, gesso on wood panel with engraved gold underlay. The great martyr holds a scroll with the text of the Creed in her left hand, and in her right hand, across, symbolizing faith in Christ. Titled in the Cyrillic lower to the center. Additionally inscribed on the back. Circa: 19th century. Antique Russian religious items and collectibles.
