RUSSIAN PAINTING BY ALEXANDRE JACOVLEFF
Alexandre Yevgenievich Jacovleff, or Iacovleff, Russian, 1887 to 1938, a pastel on a paper drawing depicting a black woman. Signed lower right. Stamped with a seal lower left. Circa the early 20th century. Jacovleff was a neoclassicist painter, draftsman, designer and etcher. In the summer of 1917, Jacovleff received a scholarship to study in the Far East.
