SOVIET ARMENIAN GRANITE SILVER MASHTOTS FIGURINE
An Aremenian Soviet Era figurine. A polished granite stone with sterling silver overlay depicting a male profile and inscription M. Mashtots in Armenian, Russian and English. Marked EYu2 for the Yerevan Jewelry Factory and 875 silver standard hallmark are underneath. Mesrop Mashtots, 362 to 440 AD, was an early Medieval Armenian linguist and theologian in the Sasanian Empire who is venerated as a saint in the Armenian Apostolic and Catholic Churches, as well as the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches.
