CHINESE HAND CARVED JADE HORSE FIGURINES IN BOXES
A pair of Chinese hand carved Jade figures in the Tang manner made for export. The figures are made of spinach green and black Jade. Each figure depicts a Warhorse. Warhorses were the pride of the Tang dynasty, a time known for its prosperity, military expansion, and artistic achievement. The horse wears a crupper, a strap that is buckled underneath the tail to prevent the saddle from slipping forward. The figures are engraved with detailed patterns. Mounted on a rectangular shaped base. Presented in a box, marked with a paper label of Guangdong Arts and Crafts. Circa: Mid 20th century.
