ANTIQUE GRAND TOUR GILT RUBY GLASS ICON PENDANT
An antique Grand Tour era glass pendant representing a Christian icon with two saints, presumably Cosmas and Damian. Gilt hand-painted figures and framing, ruby red background. There is a suspension on the top. A souvenir production of the Grand Tour, the 17th to early 19th-century custom of a traditional trip through Europe, with Italy as a key destination, undertaken by upper-class young European men.
