Howard Finster, American, 1916 to 2001, color paint and marker on shaped panel artwork Mr. Coke, modeled as a Coca-Cola bottle, painted with colorful patterns and handwritten inscriptions. Titled, Endless Circle Mr. Coke on the bottle cap. Signed, dated: Oct - 16 - 1989, Jan - 20 - 1990, inscribed: 4: 22: P19, God bless you all. Howard Finster was a self-taught folk artist and a Baptist minister who believed God had called upon him to spread religious teachings through his artwork. Finsters work is widely exhibited and represented in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, among others.
