ITALIAN RENAISSANCE MANNER MAIOLICA ENAMEL LUSTRE DISH
An Italian Renaissance Revival manner Maiolica tin glazed earthenware lustred dish. The dish is adorned with a hand painted portrait of a warrior in profile in the center surrounded by a palmette motif, and adorned with gilding. The backside is adorned with a gilded star ornament. Lustreware, a specialty of Deruta ceramics, constantly changing object depending on the light and the position of the viewer. Circa: late 19th century.
