FRENCH CHILD CHARCOAL PAINTING BY JACQUES LIPCHITZ
Jacques Lipchitz, French, American artist, 1891 to 1973, charcoal painting on wove paper, a sketch Couple and Child. Signed lower right. Matted. Jacques Lipchitz was a French Cubist sculptor, the artist of the Parisienne School. Lipchitz retained highly figurative and legible components in his work leading up to 1915 to 1916, after which naturalist and descriptive elements were muted, dominated by a synthetic style of Crystal Cubism. One of a kind artwork.
