ANTIQUE CHINESE QING ANCESTRAL PORTRAIT PAINTING
An antique Chinese watercolor, gouache and pencil painting on paper. Qing dynasty, early 19th century. The artwork is full-length portraits of six men and women, the clothes of the portrayed indicate their high status and belonging to the court circle. Kanji inscriptions in the upper middle. This type of painting is named ancestral painting. It was a common comission in the Qing era and was created in workshops as the result of collaboration among several artists.
