RARE ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI CLOISONNE SNUFF BOTTLE

An antique Japanese, Meiji era, covered enamel over copper snuff bottle. The exterior of the ware is enameled with polychrome designs depicting butterflies and blossoming flowers on the turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The neck and the base of the ware are adorned with polychrome foliage, scaly and circular ornaments made in the same technique. Without stopper. Circa: late 18th century to the early 19th century.
