CHINESE BRONZE "ELEPHANT" TRIPOD CENSER WITH EUROPEAN MAN
Ca. 18th century AD. A Chinese bronze elephant tripod censer and reticulated cover. The body is casted in the form of an inverted bell supported by three elephant-head feet, each with tusks and harnesses, with lotus scrolls decorating the body. The cover is openwork cast, also with lotus scrolls around the cast and a recumbent elephant resting, topped with a pointing European man. 一件中国青铜大象鼎炉和鏤空盖。器身铸成倒置的钟形，由三只象头足支撑，每只象头足都有象牙和甲胄，器身装 饰有莲花卷轴。盖为镂空铸件，铸件周围也饰有莲花卷轴，上面有一个躺着休息的大象，顶端有一个指向前方的欧 洲人。 Size: 260mm x 120mm; Weight: 5kg
