PAIR OF KOREAN EARLY KORYO CELADON VASES
Ca. AD 918 – 1392 A pair of Korean celadon vases in baluster form with a dish-topped rim. The vases are covered in greyish-green celadon glaze, and one has additional leaf motifs made with a dark iron slip. The form is known in Korean as Kwanggubyong. Korean scholar Yun Yong-I noted that such pieces "have been found at kiln sites in the area of Chinsan-ri, Haenam-gun, South Cholla province". Repaired.
