EGYPTIAN WOODEN BUST OF PHARAOH WITH BRONZE COBRA
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A wooden bust of a pharaoh. The face is solemn, with almond-shaped eyes, a defined nose, and full lips that convey a sense of authority. The head is adorned with a headdress, representing the nemes or khepresh, detailed with the frontal bronze cobra. The torso is minimally detailed, and the right hand is in high relief on the chest. Restored. Size: 580mm x 320mm; Weight: 4kg Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired on UK art market; Ex. Private collection, Germany.
