HUGE CYPRIOT TERRACOTTA LENTOID FLASK
Ca. 700 - 600 BC. A beautiful pottery flask presenting a flattened, circular body, a slender, tubular neck, and a flared rim flanked by a pair of ribbon-form handles, all enveloped in a red-hued slip. Decorated with white concentric circles on each face, this vessel was manufactured in Cyprus for export to the Holy Land and is known as a target flask or a pilgrim's flask.
