MEROVINGIAN SILVER-GIILT BROOCH WITH CENTRAL RED GARNET
Ca. AD 400 - 600. A silver-gilt circular brooch decorated with a central garnet cabochon set within a raised collar. Surrounding the garnet is a radial arrangement of 12 triangular cells forming a star-like motif, enclosed by a concentric ribbed border. The reverse is fitted with an attachment element.Size: 20mm x 17mm; Weight: 3gProvenance: London collection; Ex.
