COLLECTION OF LEVANTINE TERRACOTTA OIL LAMPS
Ca. AD 500 - 700. A collection of three terracotta oil lamps. The one on the left has a rounded, pointed body with diagonal grooves along the shoulders. The middle lamp has a ribbed decoration around the perimeter, with a rounded nozzle and a thickened ridge around the filling hole. The one on the right shows a compact form and similar diagonal ribbing across the body.For similar see: C. S.
