Rare MAM4d Special Signed Cheshire VC, Bateson, R A Chisholm Battle of Britain. 25 Nov 1975 Hatfield Commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the maiden flight of the protype Mosquito. Flown in Mosquito Crew Mr A C Cooper, Mr H Robbins. Personally Signed by Crew Mr A C Cooper, Mr H Robbins also Signed by Gp Capt G L Cheshire VC, DSO and 2 Bars, DFC Victoria Cross Holder. Air Vice R N Bob Bateson CB, DSO and Bar, DFC. In 1943 he was posted to No 613 Squadron, which had just re-equipped with the De Havilland Mosquito, as a Flight Commander. Within three months he was appointed CO of 613 and began to make something of a name for himself in No 2 Group, leading low level attacks against precision targets first as a squadron commander and later as a wing leader. These raids included an attack on the Gestapo HQ in The Hague on 11 Apr 1944 and the attack on 'Shell House' in Copenhagen in March 1945. Air Cmdre R A Chisholm CBE, DSO, DFC and Bar, AEA, ARCS, BSc. 604 Sqn He joined 604 Sqn, AuxAF in 1930 and was commissioned in March 193. He went on to the Reserve in January 1935 and in 1936 went to Persia to work in the oilfields there. At the Outbreak of War R A Chisholm was passed as fit for Flying at HA RAF Iraq left Teheran in January 1940 and on February 23 was posted to South Cerney for a Refresher course and conversion to twins. Rejoined 604 Sqn at Northolt in late June 1940 Battle of Britian fighter Pilot and WW11 Ace 9 in Beaufighter and Mosquito's aircraft. Died in 1994. Certified Copy 329 of 500. Good condition.
