A beautifully detailed map ”Circuli Westphalie...” by Johann Baptist Homann originates from ”Maior Atlas Scholasticus ex Triginta Sex Generalibus et Specialibus…”. This book was Homann's second school atlas, published after his 1719 ”Atlas Methodicus”. While the ”Atlas Methodicus” seemed to be intended for the younger school child with its system of blank maps and indexes, this ”Atlas Scholasticus” was clearly intended for the more advanced student with its use of the same maps as appeared in Homann's various editions of his atlases. This map was created in Nuremberg in the 1752. The work is in good to excellent condition overall. There is some faint toning or smudging mostly present in margins. There may be a few minor imperfections or faint marks to be expected with age.
