US Federal Barricade Tear Gas Shell Lot-Cutaway
This lot is inert and safe. The three shell are from Jim Geibel collection. 1) Item Description: Aluminum cartridge and very long aluminum tear agent projectile Type Designator/Model: 530 CS. Cal./Size: 1 ½-inches in diameter and 11-inches long Color: Plain aluminum with blue markings Manufacturer: Federal Laboratories, Inc. Country of Origin: United States Trainer: Yes. Cutaway: No. Long Description: The cartridge case is 4 ½-inches long and not headstamped. Markings on the projectile are “530 CS; FLAMELESS; FLITE-RITE; BARRICADE PROJECTILE; CHEMICAL AGENT (CS); instructions and warning”. There is one blue band around the projectile. There are four foil covered emission holes. 2) Item Description: Plain aluminum cartridge case and projectile Type Designator/Model: CS 560. Cal./Size: 1 ½-inches in diameter and 8 ½-inches long Color: Plain aluminum with blue markings Manufacturer: Federal Laboratories, Inc. Country of Origin: United States. Trainer: Yes. Cutaway: No. Long Description: The cartridge case has no headstamp or markings. There are ten tape covered emission holes in the projectile. Markings are “ CS 560; No.560 FEDERAL SPEDEHEAT; LONG RANGE PROJECTILE; IRRITANT AGENT (CS); MFG 1977; warning, manufacturer’s data and logo”. Stamped in black over the “560” is “EMPTY SAMPLE”. 3) Item Description: 37mm round nosed CS Irritant agent cartridge. Type Designator/Model: CNS 561 Cal./Size: 1 ½-inches in diameter and 4 ½-inches long Color: Unpainted aluminum with blue markings. Manufacturer: Federal Laboratories, Saltsburg, PA Country of Origin: United States. Trainer: Yes. Cutaway: Yes. Long Description: A part of the aluminum cartridge case is also sectioned. Markings on the projectile are “CS 561; No. 206 FEDERAL LIGHTWEIGHT LOW RECOIL; LONG RANGE PROJECTILE; IRRITANT AGENT (CS); and two blue bands. There are ten small emission holes along the body. This was once mounted on a board and there are two mounting holes on the back.
