This lot of 2 is inert and safe. From Jim Geibel collection includes 1) Item Description: 40x53mm cycling dummy cartridge. Type Designator/Model: M922 Cal./Size: 1 ?-inches in diameter and 4 ?-inches high. Color: Gold. Manufacturer: Unknown Country of Origin: United States Trainer: No. Long Description: Used to test the cycling of the high velocity weapon. There are no markings on the one-piece projectile. Some of the gold paint is missing due to handling. The headstamp on the cartridge case is “CASE CARTRIDGE M169; GIE 3-4 65”. There are no markings on the case. 2) Item Description: 40x53mm inert high explosive cartridge Type Designator/Model: M384 Cal./Size: 1 ?-inches in diameter and 4 ?-inches high. Color: Olive drab with a gold ogive Manufacturer: Unknown Country of Origin: United States Trainer: Maybe. Long Description: There are no markings on the projectile. The cartridge case is gold in color and headstamped “40MM XM169E2; 64 HA 3”. The projectile is loose in the case. Vietnam War era.
