If I forget you, O Jerusalem! Cabinet photo / Zionist business card. Russia 1905
'Isaac' created visiting cards for himself with his photo on the front. He is dressed in modern (1905) clothing. At the bottom he writes in Hebrew "If I forget Jerusalem, May my right hand forget its cunning' - an often quoted verse from Psalms - and signs his name. We already feel his connection with the Holy Land.
On the back a few lines in Russian and then more Zionist quotes in Hebrew: 'Give re- demption to the land' and also the original refrain to Hatikvah. Above he stuck an early JNF label and wrote his name in Hebrew on it.
7x11 cm. fine condition.
Item from the collections of Jacob Yablok - VirtualJewishmuseum.com.
The item is placed in a quality proactive nylon sleeve and can be easily and safely taken out from the display page. Displayed on a thin cardboard sheet with an explanation and photos on the background of Israel's flag.
