Golda Meir - Protome, The original Head Statue, From Israel Wax Museum. Vivian Sun. 1973
The original head of the statue of Prime Minister Golda Meir, which was displayed in the Israeli wax museum.
It was sculpted by Vivian Sun, a sculptor and director of a wax museum in Hong Kong. She and her team met Golda, "and this in order to achieve the highest level of accuracy"
"Some of the items that appeared on the wax sculptures were original and valuable" but we have no actual verification beside this sentence from Wikipedia that these is indeed Golda Meir original necklace.
It is recommended to watch the episode about the wax museum of series by "Kan 11" which is available on YouTube, the episode ends with the sentence: "The wax museum in Kolbo Shalom was a resounding success until it was closed in 1987, a few years later most of the museum's sculptures were sent for demolition including two those of David Ben Gurion"
According to the seller, his grandfather was one of the workers who worked to clear the museum, he decided to keep some of the heads of the sculptures. Thirty years have passed and an important item in the cultural history of Israel, which until now was considered lost, is now rediscovered.
Dimensions: height 20 cm. width 17 cm. Circumference 72 cm. The same as Golda Meir's original head size.
great condition.
