Cover, Cyprus Detention camps, Camp 66 to Tel Aviv. Internment Camp Stamper. 1947
An envelope sent to the Hoffe family in Tel Aviv, from Camp 66 which was one of the seven "winter camps" where the living quarters were in tin shacks.
The envelope bears a red stamper: "Internment Camp" and another stamper: Censor 18 Cyprus. In addition, "Opened by Censor" sticker of the British Army in Palestine. On the cancellation the year cannot be read only the month (August) and the day, however if the envelope had been sent in August 48 it would not have carried the British censor sticker, and August 46 is too early, so it can be safely determined it was sent in 1947.
