Jaeger" shotgun, South Germany or Bavaria circa 1830, indirect percussion system. Barrel rifled with sides, out of spangled damasks, trimmings out of silver with low title (for solidity). Stock carved with the leafy god of the forest (Nordic legends), embellished with a notepad box (leather or parchment discs used to surround the bullet to force it into the rifling of the barrel). The butt cheek (walnut) is carved with a stag, and the grips are carved with scales and acanthus leaves along the length of the barrel, ending in a silver mouthpiece. Fine engraving of a deer quenching its thirst at a spring on the trigger guard. Counter plate depicting roosters. In the Empire or Restoration style. Very fine chased lock, the striker representing a dragon, damascened in gold and silver (the tail a snake) the mechanism of protection of the chimney is assembled with spring with roller (roulette) and represents a snake. At the back, a boar's head in gold and silver damascene. The internal mechanism is in perfect condition and the parts are mirror polished. Streicher trigger system, with adjustable trigger using the rear screw and lever. Original ramrod with silver truncated end cap.
