Apulian red-figure pelike of the Alabastra Group from the Darius Underworld Workshop. About 330 BC. Height 33,4cm, ø 21,5cm. On the front above a calyx and in the middle of fantastic tendrils an Eros floating to the left stretching out both arms towards a blossom. Above this is a beautiful palmette frieze over an egg-and-dart ornament. On the back left of a stele a young man with a stick and coat over his arm handing an offering bowl to a young woman on the right who is holding a bunch of grapes. Numerous details in white and yellow. With certificates from Cahn and The Art Loss Register (copies)! Hole in the lower area and missing spots on the foot have been retouched.
