One-handled jug for wine with treefoil mouth of shape 1, at the ends of the ribbed handles an appliqué in form of a woman´s head. 320 - 310 BC. On the frontside an Eros carrying a quadriga with two white horses to the left, on the backside an elaborate ornament with two palmettes. Expensive usage of white and yellow color. The not painted areas are covered with a slightly brown slip. Gorgeous work of Late Apulian vase painting! Tiny chips at the white color, on the front a hardly visible fissure, otherwise intact and in excellent condition.
