Extremely rare Campanian fish-plate of the Black glazed Ware. - Extremely rare Campanian fish-plate of the Black glazed Ware. 350 - 300 BC. Height 3,9cm, ø 19,2cm. Plate with overhanging convex rim and a round deepening in the middle, except of two spared lines near the rim and around the deepening completely covered with black glaze. Uncommon for black glazed fish-plates on the upper side a circle of stamped palmettes and four rows of scrolled decor. On the inner spared line traces of reddish colour. Beautiful and rare example! Except one tiny chip at the rim intact and with fine shining black glaze.
