Figural Rhodian aryballos in form of hedgehog. - Figural Rhodian aryballos in form of hedgehog. 1st half 6th century BC. Height 7,7cm, length 10,9cm. Cosmetic vessel made of light beige terracotta with four short legs and spout with wide disk. Painting in dark brown to black at the plastically worked eyes. Furthermore all over the corpus rows of close dots and on the disk circle of leaves and at the side a maender. Gorgeous ancient image of a hedgehog! Tiny chips at the disk, otherwise intact.
