Prae-achaemenid silver kantharos. - Prae-achaemenid silver kantharos. 8th - 7th century BC. 135g. Height 10,2cm, width with handles 16,6cm, ø bowl 10,6cm. Deep and convex bowl with two large handles with hammered sides and low foot made of embossed silver. Outside at the ends of the handles two attachments in form of palmettes, the corresponding attachments inside are missing. Inside at the bottom a silver sheet with a rosette formed by two circles of leaves. Gorgeous object! With dark toning, one palmette with remains of the gilding, at one handle small fissures, a little part of one palmette is missing.
