MATHIEU GEORGES: (1921-2012) French Painter. One of the fathers of European lyrical abstraction. An attractive F.D.C., `Mathieu´, one page, oblong 6 x 4 card, Lille, 9th November 1980, in French. Signed in bold black ink by Mathieu across the front cover. The document is issued to commemorate the tenth anniversary of General De Gaulle´s death date, presenting a 1,40 Francs French Republic stamp showing a Mathieu´s work. VG
