ZOLA EMILE: (1840-1902) French Writer. A.L.S., Emile Zola, one page, Paris, Monday evening, [1876], to the Editor Charpentier, in French. On the printed stationery of Bibliotheque Charpentier Zola states `My dear friend, I came to shake your hand. We are counting on you for Thursday evening, so please say to Madame Charpentier, your forgetful spouse, to respond a yes to my wife, so the matter is properly understood.´ Beneath his signature, Zola adds a post-scriptum saying `We will go to Daudet´s home on Wednesday´. With blank integral leaf. Small tear to the right edge and very small clipped bottom left corner, otherwise G to VG Alphonse Daudet (1840-1897) French Novelist.
