BEGIN MENACHEM: (1913-1992) Israeli Politician, Founder of Likud and Prime Minister of the State of Israel 1977-83. Nobel Peace prize, 1979. T.L.S., 'M. Begin', one page, 4to, Jerusalem, 26th August 1979, to Mr Arthur Shackman. The document bears to the heading a blind embossed seal with a menorah, and beneath both in Hebrew and in English ''The Prime Minister''. Begin states in full `Dear Friend, I thank you from the heart for your kind get-well message. I am feeling fine, thank God, and am now back at my desk in the best of spirits, with every good wish´ About VG Written only a few months after signing the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty of March 1979
