DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Père (1802-1870)
DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Père (1802-1870) French Writer whose works include The Three Musketeers. A.L.S., `Alex. Dumas´, one page, 5.5 X 4.5, n.p., n.d. [1868], on his personal printed stationery, showing to the heading a printed crowned blue monogramme, with his initials, to a woman, in French. Dumas addresses this message to `Chere Petite´ (“Dear Little”), being possibly his mistress Elisa, and as so often, Hugo is very short of money, stating `Je ferai ce que je pourrai d´ici a demain, mais je suis… sans le sou jusqu´a la fin du mois. Mille tendresses´ (“I'll do what I can by tomorrow, but I'm… without any money until the end of the month. A thousand tenderness”) Small overall minor age wear with irregular upper edge and very small trace of former affixing to the verso. G
