`…do not forget Butterfly…´
PUCCINI GIACOMO: (1858-1924) Italian Composer. A.L.S, G. Puccini, one page, 4to, Milan, 14th December 1909, to Zorah Dorlac, at the Grand Theatre de la Monnaie in Brussels, in Italian. On his personal printed stationery with the heading of Via Verdi, 4, Milan, Puccini refers to Madama Butterfly, stating `Ho qui le vostre fotografie, sono molto carine e mi piacciono tanto qui sul mio segrittario! A quando le fotografie di Butterfly - e come sonno le rappresentazioni? E a Londra…´ (“I have your photos here, they are very nice and I really like them here on my secretary! When will the photographs of Butterfly be ready - and how are the performances going? Is all ready for London… ?”) Puccini further refers to the bad weather and compares it to his mood, saying `Ora sono qui a Milano con un tempo vile… cosi e anche l´animo mio!..´ (“Now I am here in Milan with a nasty weather…and so is my soul too!...”) Addressed to the verso in Puccini´s hand, postmarked and stamped. Small age wear with letter edges slightly trimmed. G
