BONAPARTE LOUIS: (1778-1846) King of Holland 1806-10. Younger brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. L.S., `Louis´, one page, 4to, Florence, 21st July 1843, to one of his nephews, in French. Bonaparte thanks his nephew for the poetic booklet about Canino, stating in part `Je vous remercie de l´envoi que vous avez bien voulu me faire de l´Opuscule poétique sur Canino. J´ai appris avec plaisir que votre santé est bonne, et que vous continuez vos progres dans vos études. J´ai été sensible aux voeux que vous voulez bien faire pour moi…´ (“Thank you for sending me the Poetic Opuscule on Canino. I learned with pleasure that your health is good, and that you continue your progress in your studies. I was sensitive to the wishes you make for me... “) Small overall foxing with age wear to slightly trimmed edges. G
