PASTEUR LOUIS: (1822-1895) French Chemist & Microbiologist, remembered for his remarkable breakthroughs in the causes and preventions of diseases. A good A.L.S., L. Pasteur, one page, 8vo, n.p., 17th February 1884, in French. Pasteur responds to his correspondent´s letter and states `I hasten to inform you, in response to your kind letter, that next Tuesday you will be able to find me for the whole day at my laboratory, Ulm street..´. Together with a rare unsigned original 2.5 x 3.5 photograph of Pasteur; Also including Marie Anne Laurent (1826-1910) Spouse and Scientific-Assistant to Louis Pasteur. A.N, to a 5.5 x 4 mourning card. Marie states `I am deeply touched with monsieur Gaston Tissandier´s emotional letter.´ VG, 3 £800-1000 Gaston Tissandier (1843-1899) French Chemist, Meteorologist and Aviator. Creator of the first electric-powered airship. During the Franco-Prussian War, Tissandier managed to leave the besieged Paris by balloon.
