MATISSE HENRI: (1869-1954) French artist. Vintage signed and inscribed 8.5 x 12 printed image of Matisse, evidently neatly removed from a book or exhibition catalogue, depicting the artist seated in a head and shoulders pose. Signed in black fountain pen ink to the lower white border, inscribed to [Erich] Chlomovitch and dated 28th July 1939 in Matisse's hand. A good signed image with an interesting association. A couple of light, minor corner creases and two small tears to the right white border, G Erich Chlomovitch (1915-1942) Erich Slomovic. Yugoslav art collector, an assistant and protégé of the French art dealer Ambroise Vollard.
