KELLERMAN ANNETTE: (1886-1975) Australian swimmer, vaudeville star and film actress, one of the first women to wear a one-piece bathing costume and the first major actress to appear nude in a Hollywood production as the star of the American silent fantasy drama film A Daughter of the Gods (1916). Vintage signed sepia postcard photograph of Kellerman seated in a three-quarter length pose in the sea and wearing the one-piece bathing suit which she did much to popularise. Signed in bold black fountain pen ink with her name alone to a light area of the image. Some very light, extremely minor surface marks to each of the corners, evidently the result of the postcard having been previously loosely cornermounted into an album. VG
