GERMAN ROYALTY: PETER I, Grand Duke of Oldenburg (1755-1829) Peter Frederick Louis of Holstein-Gottorp. A.L.S., `Pierre Duc de Holstein´, one page, 4to, Oldenbourg, 21st December 1805, in French. Peter I states in part `A squadron of Hussards has been created, and at Munster we were waiting for 15000 men..´ With blank integral leaf; MARIE OF PRUSSIA (1825-1889) Queen of Bavaria. Wife of Maximilian II of Bavaria and mother of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, known as the Mad King. A.L.S., `Marie Crown Princess´, in German, two pages, 8vo, 1843, in German, untranslated. The letter bears an attractive colourful embossed monogramme to the upper left corner, and Karl Anton, Prince of Hohenzollern (1811-1885) Head of the Princely House and Prime Minister of Prussia. Father of Leopold, Prince of Hohenzollern who, after the 1868 Spanish Revolution, was offered the Spanish Crown by the new government. A.L.S., one page, 4to, 1853, in German, untranslated.
