VAN DER MEERSCH MAXENCE: (1907-1951) French Flemish Writer. Prix Gongourt award in 1936. Died at 43 of tuberculosis. Rare A.L.S., `Maxence Van der Meersch´, one page, 8vo, n.p., 12th April 1946. On his personal embossed letterhead `7 Quai des Alliés Wasquehal (nord)´, to Maurice Garçon, in French. Van der Meersch sends his warm congratulations to his correspondent stating `..au Maitre du Barreau et de la plume.´ a fine compliment, for his recent appointment as member of the French Academy.
